What it is
Salkehatchie Summer Service is faith in action. Volunteers give a week of hard work so neighbors can feel more comfortable and secure in their homes — a ministry of love that has served families across South Carolina for decades.
Herbert Memorial UMC supports and participates in Winyah Bay Salkehatchie, our local Salkehatchie community in the Georgetown area. For 2026, the Winyah Bay camp week was June 6–13, 2026.

How to help
Each camper pays $300 to go. Local churches like Herbert Memorial UMC help by sponsoring campers and by providing meals and facilities for them to use.
You can sponsor a camper online. On Tithe.ly, select the Salkehatchie fund.
